The Honorable Ron Wyden
1220 SW 3rd Avenue
Suite 585
Portland, OR 97204
Dear Senator Wyden,
Hello! My name is Ian. I live in Portland, Oregon and I’m 11 years old. I’m writing to you about the inauguration of President-elect Obama. When the election began, I was with Obama from the start, hoping he would win to make our country better. Now that he has become President-elect Obama, I’m super happy! I’m also really excited because my family is going to Washington DC for the inauguration!
The reason that we are going is that it is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I want to share it with my schoolmates, friends and family by blogging it on the website I’m setting up. It’s called Inauguration Nation and I’ll have pictures and videos of Washington DC, the events leading up to the inauguration and then I hope to liveblog the inauguration, itself as well as the celebrations that evening. You can find the website at http://inaugurationnation.blogspot.com/ (I still have some work to do on it.)
I understand that we need tickets to go to the swearing in of our 44th president. I was told you might be able to arrange for us to get tickets. I would need 5 tickets: one for me, Ian Brickner, one each for my mom and dad, and two for my aunt and uncle. If you are able to assist me, I would be very grateful. And if you can’t help me, would you be willing to help me find out who could? I would be grateful for that help, too.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I know you are a very busy man. And thanks for being a great Senator! (My mom says you are.)
Sincerely,
Somebody who reallyreallyreallyreally wants tickets.

Okay, I didn't actually sign it that way, but it'd be cool if I did! But I didn't.
Anyway, just thought I'd keep you posted. So, see you next time.
Bye.
Oh, and while we wait, here's a picture of Barack and Joe that I think is AWESOME!!!
